Apply for support
MPO's support scheme
On behalf of the music producers, the MPO receives a share of the collective remuneration, which is paid out as compensation for legal private copying. One third of this remuneration must be used to support purposes that are common to the copyright holders - in the case of the MPO - the music producers. This share is referred to as collective remuneration and is distributed via applications (see below) and via a pool allocated to broadly aimed non-profit projects and initiatives that benefit the music companies in general.
You can apply for funding for the following areas:
- Production of music
- Distribution of recorded music outside Denmark
- Trade fair participation
- Other projects
Frequently asked questions
Who can apply for funding?
All producers and distributors who produce or have exclusive rights to distribute recorded music in Denmark can apply for funding.
When can I apply?
The MPO's subcommittees process applications every six months. The deadline for applications is April 30 and October 31, after which the secretariat and a board committee will read through all applications before the board decides on the distribution of funding.
Can I send more than one application?
If more than one application for production support per producer is submitted per application round, the subcommittee may, based on an overall assessment of the applications received, decide to grant full or partial support to only one of the applicant's applications. If the applicant submits several applications, the applicant must indicate the priority position between the applications in the comments field of the application form

Documentation
Documentation of expenses
If you have received funding from DFO, it is a requirement that you can document that the expense has been incurred.
You must upload the documentation for the expenses incurred via the form. The documentation must be gathered in one document with an overview of the expenses incurred and copies of supporting documents.
The documentation must generally be submitted no later than three months after the end of the project/event, but varies depending on the funding area. See the specific deadlines and requirements in the criteria above.
